In this week’s passage from Galatians 4, the Apostle Paul provides a brilliant illustration using the story of Hagar and Sarah to help us clearly see the distinction between works of the flesh and faith in Christ. Join in to find out how Paul used this story to teach the churches of Galatia and discover ways that this story can guide us today.

In Galatians chapter 4, Paul uses strong language to confront us with hard truths. The text invites us to ask questions like, Are we in or out? Do we want to live by his word, or do we want to live by the ways of the world? Do our lives revolve around the things of the world, or do they revolve around his kingdom and glory? Join us as we seek to gain clarity on these challenging concepts.

Can we eat bacon? Is it permissible to get a tattoo? If salvation comes through faith, then what is the purpose of the law? If we have been set free from the law, does that mean we are no longer obligated to keep it? In today’s text, we will explore Galatians 3 and seek to discover the answers to these questions and many more.

We may have heard about the common belief of justification by faith alone, which Paul addresses throughout the book of Galatians. However, James argues that a person is justified by works and not faith alone. In today’s text, we explore the relationship between the teachings of Paul and James to discover ways to fight against two distinct opponents.

All Christians, even the most influential leaders, are susceptible to falling back into the old patterns of the flesh. These cracks, however small they may be, if unattended, can lead to catastrophic consequences. In the Scripture today, we will discover ways to prevent the cracks and walk according to our new nature in Christ.
